A boudoir (French: [bu.dwaʁ], English: /ˈbuːd.wɑːr/) is a lady’s private bedroom, sitting room or dressing room. The term derives from the French verb bouder, meaning “to be sulky” or boudeur, meaning “sulky”.
photography |fəˈtägrəfē|noun – the art or practice of taking photographs.

Jen: I want to start start doing more Boudoir Sessions.

Jeff: Boudoir as in “glamour shots with boas”?

Jen: No silly, as in I want to create sexy and beautiful images for women who might be too busy in their day-to-day lives to feel confident and sexy.

Jeff: I don’t get it.

Jen: Cuz you’re a boy! Women want to feel glamorous (not in the “glamour shot” way) but in a sexy way. And maybe they haven’t felt that way in a while…

Jeff: I still don’t get it.

Jen: Imagine you’re a mom who has now traded in your Jimmy Choos for a pair of Nikes…

Jeff: Who is Jimmy Choo?

Jen: Remember the shoot I did for that client that was nervous about her session? She only did it because her friend got her the gift certificate. Anyway, of course she had fun and after she saw the images from her boudoir session I got a text saying “I am really loving myself after our photo shoot”. How powerful is that?!

Jeff: Are you going to need me for these shoots?

Jen: No! Girls only!

I am pleased to announce the launch of “The Boudoir Sessions”.

When Crystal, one of my brides, wanted to do a boudoir session instead of an engagement session I was thrilled. Don’t get me wrong – I love doing engagement sessions – but there is something so cool about a boudoir session. It’s nice for us girls to take the time, dress up and feel sexy! Plus it was a big surprise for her fiance, Brian. That makes it even more fun.
We did our session at the Hotel Frank, a cute little hotel by Union Square. Crystal is absolutely gorgeous. She was a little nervous but I adore the fact she just jumped in and was game for anything. Also, she brought her dress so I got a sneak peak.
I L-O-V-E how these turned out and I heard through the grapevine that Brian agrees as well. Their wedding images come soon!
