I have known Lauren for a long time. In fact, I believe we ( her sister and I ) took her to her first concert – No Doubt. She was a teenager and so excited hear all the songs from the Tragic Kingdom album. She was loving every minute of it!
Now she is all grown up, engaged and is about to get married to Joe. I am honored to shoot their wedding this summer. I could see how much they adore each other and how extremely happy they are. It just amazes me that Lauren is isn’t that teenager anymore is about to be Joe’s beautiful wife.
Congratulations!

It was a prefect day – warm. Spring was on it’s way. Frank and Rebecca wanted to do part of their engagement shoot at a winery. They found Truett Hurst Winery. The plan was to do a few shots there then move on to another location but once we saw how beautiful this place was we didn’t leave. We had a great time shooting around the winery . The winery had a beautiful garden, a river with cool red chairs alongside and adorable goats and sheep.
I am so excited for their wedding. These two are so sweet and just lovely to be around. I kept overhearing them telling how much they love each other during the shoot. It made me smile as I “worked”!

Anyone who knows me probably knows I have a hopeless case of puppy love. That is, of course, I absolutely love doggies. I keep a list of possible names for a future dog in my life (I’m partial to “Lola” right now for some reason). One of my goals in life is to have a house with yard – so we can finally get a dog! These furry family members make my heart just about melt simply passing by when I’m walking down the street.
Given all of this, it’s probably no surprise that I was thrilled to be interviewed by Janine of Dogster for a nice little article on including your four-legged friends in engagement or couple’s photo sessions. You can read the interview here.

Oh Ashley and Vince are so sweet! We hit up Chinatown and the Presidio for their engagement session. Chinatown can be crowded and challenging to shoot in sometimes but Ashley and Vince were on board to give it a try! So happy it worked out!
Happy Engagement you two!

Alexa and Sean’s first date was at The Buccaneer – one of SF’s finest dive bars. They felt it was fitting to start the shoot there. Nervous to be in front of the camera but a little liquid courage seemed to do the trick. We had a great time exploring some of their old haunts and the gorgeous Presidio. These two were so fun and up for anything. Truly one of my favorite shoots. You know when liquid shots meet photographic shoots it’s going to be fun!

I get up, and nothing gets me down.
I like to jump. and then go round and round
And I know, just how it feels.
You’ve got to roll with the punches to get to what’s real
Oh can’t you see me standing here,
I’ve got my back against the record machine, I ain’t the worst that you’ve seen.
Oh can’t you see what I mean
-Van Halen
Might as well jump. Jump

Lucky number 7! That’s how many years ago Jessica and Danny met. It was Jessica’s 21st birthday and she went Vegas to celebrate. Danny was there with friends for the weekend too. They met and it was love at first sight. The only problem? She was from the West Coast and he was on the East Coast – Long Island, to be exact. They made it work and eventually he came to sunny California. I love their story and it’s a true testament to how love happens when you’re not looking for it. They were both lucky in love that night. I wonder how they did on the tables? I am really looking forward to the wedding in October. I would wish them luck – but I don’t think they’ll need it.

Lisa and Adam have amazing energy and are a super fun couple who adore each other. Pretty much down for anything I suggested, which I love. Their wedding is coming up this fall and I can’t wait. It’s going to be really cool and a photographer’s dream! We visited some of San Francisco’s iconic spots the other day (with their sweet little puppy Dexter) like the Palace of Fine Arts and Chrissy Field because this couple loves this city. We also stopped by this awesome mural on Haight Street. We had perfect light and even beat the rain!
Lisa told me she cried when she looked at the pictures. In what other job could I possibly enjoy making people cry and not be completely wrong?

“It’s A Bird… It’s A Plane… ” No, it’s Angie and Brian and they are Super in-love! With each other, of course, but also with comic books. So, I had the idea of doing their shoot in this amazing little comic book store/lounge called Isotope on Fell Street in San Francisco. James, the owner, was very nice letting us do the shoot in his fantastic shop. This place is wall-to-wall comic books and other cool things (like his collection of custom-designed toilet seats that line the walls). Angie and Brian were like kids in a candy store… or… kids in a comic book store. They had a great time looking through the shelves and grabbing their favorites. We even got James into the shoot. Then we headed to the spaceship sculpture on the SF Embarcadero to round out the shoot. It seemed appropriate.
