The Mountain Terrace in Woodside is a hidden gem. If you’re looking for a dreamy location, this is your wedding spot. This feeling resonated with Katherine and Ian, too. They fell in love with the massive redwood tree surrounding the lush green meadow, where they would say their vows and their favorite people surrounded them.
One of the things I love most about weddings is the anticipation and excitement that fills the air before the couple sees each other. Some couples decide to have a first look, where they see each other before the ceremony, while others choose to wait until the traditional moment at the altar. In this particular wedding, the couple opted for a first look, and they also wanted to have a private vow reading. As a photographer, being able to capture the genuine emotions and words exchanged between the couple during this intimate moment was incredibly special. The camera lens captured tears falling in front of it and behind it.
I had the best day capturing all the big hugs, happy tears, and belly laughs. It’s always an honor to be a witness to such joy. But I guess the frosting on the cake, or the sprinkles on the doughnut, is to be in such a beautiful place like The Mountain Terrace.
