I’ve photographed a lot of weddings in the Bay Area, but there’s something truly special about a wedding at the Sequoia Retreat Center. I’ve worked here often, and I love it — the towering redwoods, the peaceful forest setting, and the way the light filters through the trees make it a beautiful backdrop for both the ceremony and the reception.
Recently, I had the chance to capture a gorgeous Indian wedding here, and I wanted to share a little about why this venue works so well for couples looking for something natural, intimate, and full of color.
Ceremony Among the Redwoods
The ceremony was held outdoors beneath the tall sequoias, and the forest setting made the day feel calm and private. The bright colors of the bride’s saree and the groom’s sherwani stood out beautifully against the greens and browns of the trees.
Some of my favorite moments from the ceremony included:
-
The first look between the bride and groom
-
The garland exchange
-
The vows and quiet family moments
Since I know the venue well, I can find spots where the light is just right and capture candid reactions without anyone feeling posed or rushed.
Reception Celebration
After the ceremony, the reception took place in one of the center’s gorgeous outdoor spaces. It was full of warmth and joy — speeches, dancing, and lots of laughter.
Working regularly at Sequoia Retreat Center, I know how to move around the space to capture natural, lively shots. I love catching those unplanned moments: a laugh shared between family members, a playful dance, or a quiet glance between the couple.
Why Couples Love Sequoia Retreat Center
For anyone considering a wedding here, the venue offers:
-
Beautiful natural backdrops for photos
-
Flexible indoor and outdoor spaces
-
A peaceful, private setting that feels like a retreat from the everyday
Because I work here often, I can also help couples figure out where to take portraits and how to make the most of the light during the day.
Capturing Indian Weddings in the Bay Area
I love capturing weddings in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I always strive to photograph them in a way that feels genuine — highlighting both the big moments and the quiet, emotional ones. I love photographing at Sequoia Retreat Center, and it’s always a joy to see couples enjoy the natural beauty of the space while celebrating with their family and friends.
If you’re planning a wedding at Sequoia Retreat Center, it’s a venue that truly lets you focus on your day and enjoy every moment — and I’d be happy to help capture it.
