Lauren and Nathan | The Engagement Session

“What are we going to do on our third date?”
I’m sure this is a question many newly-dating couples think about. But for Lauren and Nathan, the answer was easy…thanks to me!
In January 2015, I was visiting New Orleans with my best friend. One night, we were hanging out with our awesome Airbnb hosts (seriously time spent with Stephen and Jim is one of the best things about New Orleans) who took us to the Krewe Du Vieux and around 12 bars (I lost count…shocking, I know!).
At one of the bars we met up their friend Nathan, who was on his second date with a new mystery woman. Nathan ( contractor / woodworker) and his date Lauren (author and artist) walked in and immediately I could see how smitten these two were for each other.
After a few cocktails and chatting for a while, I asked if – for their third date – they would like to do a little mock engagement photoshoot. Being the photographer that I am, if I’m in a new, cool location I want to shoot there and capture the local charm. Nathan and Lauren were more than game. So, the next day we met and had a photo session ( see it here). Later, after Lauren viewed the pictures she said jokingly, “You know, you will have to shoot our wedding someday!”
Well, guess what? Lauren and Nathan got engaged in March this year. And I just happened to be in New Orleans in May! Here are photos from our real engagement session.
I’m so happy for this sweet and talented couple!
