I love Ophelia. If you don’t know the classic Shakespearean story read all about it here. I really love the imagery of a girl in floating in water with flowers, broken–hearted and well.... it ‘s really beautiful. I have always wanted to recreate this tragic story in photo. I just needed a model who would be brave enough to get in a creek and float.
Then I met Jasmine. She is a model and wanted some images for her portfolio. I told her my idea and she was game. My next step…. what every girl struggles with – what to wear? A tutu of course! With yards and yards of tull in my life for a few weeks… I had it.
Next: hair, make-up, flowers and the beautiful location. We were set. She did a great job. It wasn’t easy being all wet in cold water for an hour or so. This is what we came up with. (PS Thanks you to Heide Mora my assistant she rocks too! )
Driving back, Jasmine freezing, I saw this light. She was such a trooper! She crawled into the weeds and I got this.
